Conflict of Interest and Commitment >>>

Federal agencies that accept proposals and issue subsequent awards require compliance with financial conflicts of interest/objectivity in research.  This compliance requires a principal investigator to disclose the existence of certain financial interests and also requires the institution to review those disclosures, determine whether any potential conflicts of interest may exist, and establish mechanisms to manage, reduce, or eliminate such conflicts of interest.  The CNU Policy for Conflict of Interest and Commitment for Research and Sponsored Programs fulfills these requirements.

Time and Effort Reporting>>>

Federal sponsors of grants, contracts, and subcontracts require “time and effort reporting” to document that salary costs charged to federal accounts accurately represent the amount of effort committed to the project.  Federal sponsors seek this degree of accountability to ensure that they only support costs incurred that are essential to research efforts.  In order to comply with University and Government requirements for “time and effort reporting”, the following form must be completed each semester by each faculty member or professional staff working on a federal or state-sponsored project.
